Arturo Basa, MD, FACS

Arturo Basa, MD, FACS received his medical degree from the Far East University in Manila, Philippines. His general surgery residency was completed at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and his Urology residency at Huron Road Hospital also in Cleveland.

Dr. Basa has been in private practice since 1971. Dr. Basa is a co-founder of SouthWest Urology and has been practicing with this group since 1986. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member and past president of the Association of Philippine Practicing Physicians in Ohio and the Society of Philippine Surgeons in America. He is a member of the Cleveland and Ohio branches of Urological Society, the American Medical Association, the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. Dr. Basa also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Basa spends much of his spare time facilitating yearly medical missions to the Phillipines. He is active in the Strongsville Rotary Club and loves playing golf and skiing.
