Michael Barkoukis, MD, FACS

Michael Barkoukis, MD, FACS graduated magna cum laude from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1977. Both his general surgery and urology residencies were completed at University Hospitals in Cleveland Ohio.

Dr. Barkoukis is co-founder of SouthWest Urology, Inc. and has practiced with the group since 1982 where he currently serves as its President. He is past chairman of Urology at Southwest General Health Center, past chairman of the Department of Surgery at Parma Community General Hospital, immediate past member of the Board of the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, and current President-elect of the Medical Staff at Parma Community General Hospital.

Dr. Barkoukis is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at Case Western Reserve University. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds memberships with many professional organizations including the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, The American Fertility Society, and the Ohio Urological Society.

Outside of his profession, Dr. Barkoukis is active member of St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church and serves on the parish council. In his leisure time, he enjoys fishing and scuba diving. He and his wife, Hope, live in Brecksville, Ohio and have three children.
